Perennial with woody rootstock and ascending-erect stems 20-30 cm high. Leaves petiolate with 4-7 pairs of elliptic-ovate leaflets and a dense adpressed indumentum below, sparse above; stipules prominent, up to 5 mm long. Peduncles longer than the leaves. Inflorescence many-flowered, much elongating in fruit. Calyx 7-8,5 mm with teeth 1,5-2 x longer than tube. Corolla yellow with purplish red striations; standard 12-15 mm; wings 8-9 mm; keel 12-15 mm. Ovary lanate. Fruit orbicular-reniform, c. 8 x 6 mm, pubescent, setose. Fl. 6-7. Steppe, 1100-1450 m.
