Distinguished from P. sativum by its weak slender stems 10-45 cm, 1-2-paired dentate or incised-dentate leaflets, peduncle 1-1 ½ x as long as the incised-dentate stipules and usually bearing a slender awn, solitary smaller flowers with an orange-buff corolla, smaller legumes , and seeds with an obscurely subpapillose testa. Fl. 3-6. Rocky limestone slopes, 30-1550 m.
