Erect or ascending perennial, 15-40 cm. Leaflets 1-3 cm, broadly elliptic with a cuneate base, all sessile. Inflorescence 1-2 cm wide, ovoid, becoming globose, many-flowered. Flowers yellowish turning yellow-brown; pedicels shorter than the calyx tube, at first spreading, later deflexed. Calyx 4-5 mm, teeth pilose. Corolla 6-8 mm, standard not folded. Fl. 6-8. Damp pastures, by streams and under trees, 1500-3200 m.
