Erect or ascending annual, 10-25 cm. Leaflets 5-12 mm, those of the upper leaves elliptic to linear, of the lower leaves obovate, both with obtuse or mucronate apices. Inflorescence c. 1 cm wide, globose to narrowly ovoid, 10-20-flowered, involucrate or not. Bracts reduced to minute scales. Calyx not inflated in fruit, glabrous or sparsely hairy, teeth spreading or deflexed. Corolla pink to rarely white, 8-11 mm, long-exserted from the calyx Fl. 3-4.
