Ascending annual, 10-20 cm. Stipules lanceolate, free portion long-subulate, villose. Leaflets 0,8-1,5 cm, obovate to oblong-cuneate. Inflorescence globose, c. 2 cm diam., sessile, subtended by very broad, almost orbicular stipules. Calyx tube obconical, densely adpressed-hairy, 20-nerved; teeth setaceous, blunt. Corolla purple, 15-17 mm, exceeding the calyx. Fruiting calyx growing in width and separating at maturity from the axis. Fl. 4-6. Scrub, rocky slopes, roadsides, 50-1700 m.
