Erect or ascending annual, 10-40 cm. Stipules oblong, free portion lanceolate-subulate. Leaflets of lower leaves obovate, retuse, those of the upper, linear-oblong to elliptic, 0,8-2 cm. Inflorescence ovoid to cylindrical, 0,6-1 cm wide, usually long-pedunculate. Calyx campanulate; tube 10-nerved, throat in fruit open with a callous ring; teeth subequal, triangular-Ianceolate, acute erect or divergent in flower, often becoming stellate. Corolla pale pink, 4-6 mm, shorter than or as long as the calyx. Fl. 4-5. Grassy places, forest clearings etc., to 1600 m.
