Ascending or decumbent annual, 6-20 cm. Free portions of stipules triangular with subulate tips. Leaflets 1 cm or more, obovate to oblong, thickened, with prominent lateral nerves at the margins arcuate-recurved. Inflorescences ovoid to cylindrical with a cuneate base, 0,7-1,0 cm wide, sessile. Calyx tube leathery to ligneous, cylindrical, 10-nerved, adpressed-hairy; in fruit the throat open but narrowed by a callous ring; teeth lanceolate, mostly glabrous, unequal. Corolla white or pinkish, 4-7 mm, shorter than or as long as the calyx. Fl. 1-6. Quercus scrub, calcareous grassland, stony ground, rock crevices, etc., s.l.-1100 m.
