Dwarf, acaulescent annual, 3-8 cm. Leaves long-petioled, arising from the base of the plant; stipules broad. Inflorescence, 4-6-flowered, sessile in the axils of the stipules. Calyx 10-nerved; teeth lanceolate recurved or falcate in fruit. Corolla white, c. 2 mm, included within the calyx. Fl. 3-4. Roadsides, fields, bare ground, etc., nr. s.l.
