Procumbent annual. Stems villous to hirsute. Leaves imparipinnate with 5 leaflets, the ± obovate terminal leaflet much exceeding the lateral leaflets. Flowers in axillary fascicles of 1-7. Calyx 12-15 x 4,5-6 mm, inflated at anthesis, later further inflated, up to 12 mm wide, gibbous, densely sericeous, frequently reddish near the apex, the teeth equal, the mouth straight. Corolla yellow or cream, the keel often red at the apex. Legume constricted between the seeds. Fl. 4-5. Rocky slopes, fallow fields, s.l.-600 m.
