Slender, sparingly pilose annual, 15-50 cm, climbing. Leaflets 3-6-paired, 6-20 x 5-13 mm, ovate or oblong, entire or the lower sometimes dentate-incised, retuse; stipules hastate or ovate, toothed at base; tendrils simple or branched. Peduncle obsolescent, pedicel distinctly shorter than calyx. Flowers 1, bicoloured, 18-22 mm. Calyx c. 10 mm, hardly gibbous, with a weakly oblique mouth, glabrescent; teeth about as long as tube, subequal, subulate-lanceolate. Standard yellowish or cream, with a broad limb at least as long as claw; wings blue-violet. Legume linear or narrowly oblong, c. 30-40 x7 mm, minutely glandular, at length glabrous. Seeds 6:7, hilum 1/5-1/6 of perimeter. Fl. 4-6.
