Annual or biennial, ± adpressed pubescent, up to 45 cm, procumbent or scrambling. Leaves short; leaflets 2-5-paired, 4-12 x 1,5-3 mm, linear to oblong or elliptic; stipules minute, semi-hastate; tendrils often simple. Peduncle ½ as long to as long as leaf, 2-6-flowered. Pedicels c. 1 mm. Flowers 9-17 mm, violet-blue. Calyx 3-6 mm, usually weakly gibbous, with an oblique mouth, sparingly pubescent; teeth distinctly shorter than the tube to nearly as long, lanceolate to triangular. Limb of standard as long as or slightly longer than claw; keel angled. Style dorsally subcompressed. Legume linear-oblong, 20-35 x 6-7 mm, glabrous or nearly so. Seeds 2-4, hilum very short. FI. 3-4. Rocky places, macchie, hedges, s.I.-300 m.
