Erect perennial, 40-70 cm; stem softly hirsute. Leaves large, ending in a mucro; leaflets 3-6-paired, ovate, subacuminate, 35-60 x 15-30 mm, adpressed-pilose, eglandular; stipules unequal, one large and subcordate, the other small and ovate-lanceolate. Raceme long-peduncled; flowers 3-20, long-pedicelled. Calyx 8-10 mm, pilose, lowest tooth lanceolate, about as long as tube, the remainder short and triangular. Corolla soft orange-yellow, 15-20 mm. Legume rhombic-oblong, 27-32 x 7-8 mm , glabrous. Fl. 5-8. Mixed deciduous forests and Picea forest, 30-2000 m.
