Annual, ± pubescent or subglabrous, 18-90 cm, usually climbing. Leaflets 3-7-paired, 5-30 x 3-15 mm, obovate to oblong or even linear, entire or margins rarely toothed, acutish to retuse; stipules 3-5 mm, ovate to semi-hastate, tapering, the lower irregularly dentate; tendrils branched. Peduncle, very short, pedicel much shorter than calyx. Flowers 1; pale yellow to buff, 22-32 mm. Calyx 10-15 mm, nearly regular but rather gibbous, pubescent; teeth about as long as to much shorter than tube, subequal, lanceolate-subulate. Standard broad, limb c. 1/2 x as long as claw, glabrous. Legume broadly linear, 20-45 x 5-7 mm, long-beaked, ± puberulent, glabrescent towards maturity. Seeds 8-12, hilum c. 2/3-3/4 of perimeter. Fl. 4-6. Forest, scrub, fields, roadsides, s.l-1200 m.
