Slender, straggly annual, ± pubescent, 20-80 cm. Leaflets 5-10-paired, 5-15 x 1-3 mm, linear; stipules up to 3 mm, semi-sagittate to lanceolate, the lower often few-toothed or somewhat laciniate; tendrils slender, mostly branched. Peduncle ½ as long to as long as leaf, 2-6-flowered. Flowers 3-4 mm, bluish-white. Calyx 1,5-3 mm, regular, not gibbous; teeth 1-1/2 as long as tube, subequal, linear-subulate. Legume oblong-rhomboid to trapezoid, 6-11 x 2,5-4 mm, torulose, adpressed-hirtulous or sometimes subglabrous. Seeds 1-2, hilum c. ½ ofperimeter. Fl. 5. Quercus forest, sandy soils, s.I.-800 m.
Eurasia, N.W. Africa, Abyssinia; very scattered in S.W. Asia.
