Pilose annual; stems prostrate or climbing, 20-90 cm. Leaflets 3-10-paired, 5-25 x 1,-8 mm, oblong to cuneate-oblong, sometimes linear-lanceolate, usually obtuse to emarginate; stipules minute, semi-hastate to ovate or lanceolate; tendrils long, mostly branched. Peduncle much shorter than the 2-4-flowers. Flowers c. 17-22 mm, bicoloured. Calyx 7-9 mm, tubular-campanulate, gibbous, with an oblique mouth, ± pubescent; teeth linear-subulate, unequal, the lower about as long as tube. Standard brassy yellow, limb narrow, slightly shorter than ± papillose claw; wings blackish at apex. Legume oblong-lanceolate, 24-34 x 6-10 mm, beaked, glabrous except for ± tubercled-ciliate sutures. Seeds 2-6, hilum c. 1/6 of perimeter. Fl. 4-6.
