Slender ephemeral annual. Stem strictly erect, 6-20 cm. Basal leaves absent at anthesis; cauline 2,5-10 x 0-4-0,8 mm, opposite or whorled, linear, obtuse. Pedicels 1-3,5 mm, erect. Calyx campanulate, tube 4-5 mm, lobes deltoid. Corolla 3-5 mm, tube included in calyx tube; lobes short, obtuse. Capsule ellipsoid. Fl. 4-6. Sandy flats flooded in winter, often associated with Juncus mutabilis Lam., nr s.l.-40 m.
