Resembling S. iberica but with longer narrower basal leaves to 30x4-5 cm, blade narrowly spathulate to spathulate-elliptic, gradually attenuate into petiole, opposite cauline leaves, blades sessile, fused at base for c. 2 mm, interrupted inflorescence with mainly 4-merous flowers grouped at different levels, and pale yellow to yellowish white corolla, lobes each with a single fimbriate nectary. Fl. 7-9. Streamsides, flushes, water meadows, 1750-3290 m.
