Annual , 10-60 cm, viscid-villous. Leaves opposite, palmatifid to ½ , 3-6 cm diam., segments rhombic, pinnately lobed. Pedicels bearing long eglandular and short glandular-capitate hairs. Sepals enlarging in fruit to 9-10 mm; awn 2-3 mm. Petals 8-11 mm, obcordate, light violet-blue with darker veins. Mericarps large, blackish, hispidulous. Seeds mottled with greyish brown and yellowish fawn, obscurely foveolate. Cotyledons of seedling with deep lateral notches. Fl. 6. In mixed and coniferous forests, 1100-1900 m.
