Saxatile perennial, glabrous throughout, 10-30 cm. Caudex branched, woody, sheathed in old leaf bases. Leaves mostly basal, 3-4 cm diam., palmatifid to 2/3 ; segments broadly cuneate-obovate, shortly 3-lobulate into lobes each with 2-3 mucronate crenations. Sepals ± connivent in fruit, 5-7 mm; awn 0,2-0,7 mm. Petals obovate-spathulate, c. 15 mm, long-clawed, reddish purple. Mericarps glabrous or minutely puberulent, bearing remote, slender wrinkles. Fl. 6. Crevices of limestone rocks, 1400-2200 m.
Endemic; E. Medit. element. Related to G. lasiopus.
