Differing from G. tuberosum in having an elongated, stoutly contorted, knobbly scale-leaved rhizome, a pair of acutely and deeply bipinnatifid, long-petiolate cauline leaves below the first dichotomy, and the beak attenuate into a longer style. Fl. 4-6. Igneous screes and mountain sides, 1200-2300 m.
