Somewhat aromatic annual, 6-30 cm, with subglabrous stems, often reddish. Leaves glossy but sparsely pilose, palmatifid to ½ -2/3 , 1-4 cm diam.; segments cuneate, broadly 3-lobulate; upper leaves opposite, shortly petiolate. Pedicels sparsely pubescent. Sepals keeled, connivent in flower and fruit, 5-7 mm, with transverse wrinkles; awn 0,2-0,5 mm. Petals 8-10 mm, long-clawed, bright pink, rarely white. Mericarps ridged above, reticulate below. Fl. 3-5. Shady places, often in limestone rocks, s.l.-1700 m.
