Stem 5-12 cm, ascending to prostrate from woody base, glabrous. Leaves 3-7 mm, obovate-elliptic, margins flat or ±indurated, glabrous, glaucous-green, with conspicuous intramarginal and superficial glands. Inflorescence 2-3-flowered. Sepals narrowly ovate-oblong, acute to subobtuse, black-glandular-denticulate. Petals 8-10 mm, without or with a solitary apical black gland. Capsule ovoid, 4-5 mm. Fl. 7-8. Limestone rock crevices, 1900-2000 m.

Ssp nurhakense: Hypericum malatyanum subsp. nurhakense differs from the related H. malatyanum subs. malatyanum by its oblong to lanceolate bracts and bracteoles with long stalked black glands ; dentate sepals with long stalked black glands ; petal margin with 1 apical black-glandular cilium apical black-glandular cilium); 23–28 stamens ; capsule 3.5–4 mm. long, shorter ; seeds shorter , with the outer surface coloured and reticulate .
