Stems 5-30 cm, suberect to ascending, branching but not usually rooting at the base, shortly whitish-pubescent. Leaves 5-30 mm, ovate or obovate to elliptic-oblong, with intramarginal and sometimes superficial black glands, pubescent. Sepals narrowly oblong to oblong-spathulate, acute to obtuse or rarely rounded, glandular-ciliate, usually with some superficial black dots, puberulous or glabrous. Petals 9-15 mm, with black or amber superficial glands and sometimes black marginal glands. Capsule 7-12 mm, with dorsal vittae and lateral vesicles. Fl. 5-8. Dry grassy or rocky slopes or steppe, 50-2400 m.
