Prostrate perennial with woody root. Stems softly lanate-villous, 5-12 cm. Cauline and floral leaves linear-oblong to linear, obtuse, entire or with 1-5 short blunt lateral teeth in distal half, subadpressed-pilose. Inflorescence dense, elongate. Verticillasters 2-4-flowered. Calyx 3-4 mm, teeth c. as long as tube. Corolla yellow, 12-20 mm, usually shorter than floral leaves. Nutlets c. 3 mm, foveolate. Fl. 5-6. Stony limestone slopes and phrygana, 100-1550 m.
