Strongly perennial herb with stout woody stock. Stems procumbent or ascending, 4-12 cm, simple and densely lanate, Leaves densely and shortly Ianate. Basal leaves obovate, toothed above, petiolate. Cauline and lower floral leaves broadly cuneate-obovate, broadly and obtusely 3-lobed to 1/6-1/3. Inflorescence dense, 2-10 cm, verticillasters 2-flowered. Calyx c. 5 mm, teeth lanceolate and 2 x tube. Corolla white or pink, 12-15 mm, tube much longer than calyx; lower lip much shorter than corolla tube, with a small orbicular shortly emarginate middle lobe. Nutlets 2.5 mm, foveolate. Fl. 5-6. Sloping and vertical limestone rocks facing S. & W., 900-1200 m.
Endemic. Ir.-Tur. element. Although bearing some resemblance to A. bombycina, very distinct in the form and colour of its corolla and in its foveolate nutlets.
