Perennial herb, stems simple , 20-30 cm, sturdier than in M. cilicica, internodes longer than leaves. Median leaves broadly ovat to suborbicular, 7-17 x 6-12 mm, thick, obtuse, subentire to obscurely crenate broader and more prominently nerved than in M. fruticosa, densely adpressed- canescent; petiole 2-3 mm. Inflorescence interruptedly columnar below, Conferted above. Cymules dense-flowered, shortly peduncled and pedicelles forming compact 6-60-flowered verticillasters c. 1 cm broad. Floral leaves mostly shorter than verticillasters. Calyx obconical-cylindrical, c. 2.5 mm teeth triangular, obtuse, 1/6 as long as calyx. Corolla white or purple, c. mm. Nutlets ovate to ovate-oblong, c. 0.9 mm, acute, glandular-hairy. Gynodioecious. Fl. 7-9. Rocky calcareous places and pastures, c. 1830 m.
