Stems 20-75 cm, ascending to erect, often sparsely to densely ± straight long-haired, crispate or puberulous. Leaves ovate, 8-35 x 6-20 mm, glandular ± long and short straight-haired and/or crisp ate to puberulous, camptodromous, shallowly to conspicuously toothed, rarely entire. Verticillasters 5-15, peduncle 0-13 mm, secondary branches 0-9 mm. Bracts subulate, 1.5-4 mm. Calyx glandular, ± crispate, sparsely short- and long-haired, hairs at throat sparse and exserted, 13-veined, 3.5-5.5 mm. Corolla mauve to pink, 6.5-12 mm. Gynodioecious.
