Differing from L. galactophyllum by stems villous in inflorescence; hairs 0.3-0.6 mm; leaves with 6-8 crenations per side; bracts petiolate or cordate at base; calyx teeth 5-7 mm; corolla tube ± straight; nutlets 2.3-2.5 x 1.4-1.5 mm. Fl. 4-5. Fallow fields on clay, alpine pastures, rocky slopes, 1300-1400 m.
