Perennial. Stems erect, unbranched, 15-30 cm, densely white pilose. Basal leaves spathulate to orbicular, petiolate, slightly crenate, very densely white pilose on both surfaces; cauline leaves long-petiolate, spathulate, less densely pilose. Floral leaves subsessile, oblong. Verticillasters condensed into a head terminating the main stem; bracteoles inconspicuous. Calyx tube c. 7 mm, densely stellate-pilose, hairs with elongate central branches; teeth c. 3 mm, pilose for c. 1/2 their length. Corolla white, 12-14 mm, densely stellate-pilose outside, thinly so inside upper lip. Nutlets brown. Fl. 5-7. Slopes, 1500-2500 m.
