Subshrub to 30 cm, ± hirsute. Branches to 5 pairs per stem, often unpaired, to 5 cm, Leaves subsessile, cordate or roundish, 6-25 x 4-20 mm, obtuse, ± glaucous. Spicules sometimes pyramidal, 12-60 x 18-37 mm. Bracts roundish, often broader than long, 8-25 x 7-27 mm, obtuse, yellowish-green. Verticillasters 2-16-flowered. Calyx 5-9 mm; upper lip with broadly ovate or ±broadly triangular teeth to c. 2/5; lower lip c. 4/5 x upper lip, consisting of ± ovate or triangular teeth. Corolla white or pale pink, 9-16 mm. Upper filaments to 2 mm, lower to 10 mm. Fl. 6-9. Calcareous and non-calcareous rocks and slopes, 250-1300 m.
Georgia. Euxine element. Allied to O. acutidens.
