Subshrub to 80 cm, ± hirsute at base, otherwise glabrous. Branches to 1-2 pairs per stem, to 7 cm; branches of 2nd order sometimes present. Leaves subsessile, cordate to ovate, 6-40 x 4-24 mm, acute or obtuse, glaucous. Spicules 10-35 x 6-11 mm. Bracts ovate, 6-11 x 2-6 mm, acuminate or acute. Calyx 1-lipped to c. 2/5, c. 5 mm; upper lip subentire; lower lip consisting of 2 very small lobes. Corolla pink, c. 12 mm. Fl. 7-8. Calcareous rocks and slopes, sometimes in Pinus woods, c. 1000 m.
