Shrub, strongly aromatic in all parts, c. 40-100 cm, densely pilose to pubescent with numerous sessile glands, sometimes with short capitate glands. Leaves lanceolate, hastate, 2.8-7.5 x 1.5-3 crn, tomentose-canescent with numerous sessile glands, occasionally with short capitate glands, rugose, crenulate. Petiole 1-3.6 cm. Spike c. 6-17 cm, not elongating in fruit; verticillastersc. 10-25-flowered; infructescences rigid, persisting till following season. Pedicels c. 1 mm. Calyx 34.5 mm, to 6-10 mm in fruit and adpressed to axis, ± densely eglandular-pilose, rarely with capitate glands; upper lip obsoletely tridentate, lower bidentate, teeth c. 1.5 mm. Corolla white, 4-6 mm; tube ± equalling calyx; upper lip usually clearly bifid, shorter than 3-lobed lower lip; both lips bearing sessile glands. Nutlets c. 2.5 x 1 mm. Fl. 5-7. Among rocks, Pinus brutia & Cupressus sempervirens woods, Quercus coccifera scrub, phrygana, 650-2000 m.
Endemic. E. Medit. element. Unmistakable. Not rare in Antalya vilayet but restricted to it.
