Perennial suffruticose herb. Stems to c. 50 cm, brittle, ±densely pilose to villous with capitate glandular hairs. Leaves simple, broadly ovate to suborbicular, 4-7 x 3-5 cm, cordate, glandular-pilose, crenulate, rugulose; petiole 2-4 cm. Inflorescence paniculate, few-flowered, leafy; verticillasters 1-2-flowered, pedunculate from upper leaf axils, distant. Pedicels 1-5 mm. Calyx tubular-infundibular, 15-20 mm, broadening in fruit, glandular-villous, upper lip shortly tridentate, longer than lower. Corolla bright pink, c. 30 mm; tube straight below, widening above, incompletely annulate; upper lip ± straight. Stamens A. Nutlets ±spherical, c. 5 x 4.5 mm. Fl. 5. Limestone cliffs, c. 900 m.
