Caespitose or mat-forming suffruticose perennial similar to S. Caespitosa but differing by taller stems with inflorescence clearly exceeding leaf level; larger terminal leaf segments ; more numerous, often widely spaced verticillasters; larger, usually white corollas ; and somewhat larger nutlets . Fl. 5-7. Rocky limestone and igneous slopes, screes, subalpine pasture, 1200-3200 m.
