Stem 50-90 cm, simple or with erect opposite branches, strongly 4-angled, densely antrorsely puberulous, shortly glandular-hairy above . Leaves petiolate, median cauline with lamina ovate, cordate, 80-90 x 45-55 mm, crenate, obtuse or acuminate, glabrous or sparsely puberulous; petiole 25-30 mm. Flowers in lax spicate racemes, 20-30 mm; bracts to 6 x 3 mm, ovate, shortly exceeding calyx. Calyx 4 mm, accrescent to 8-10 mm in fruit. Corolla pale mauve, lower lip with white central band and deeper mauve stripe within, 20-23 mm. Fl. 7-8. Rocky limestone slopes, earthy screes, c. 800 m.
