Scutellaria yildirimlii

Dwarf perennial herbs with many stems arising from a long woody root-stock, mat-forming, indumentum densely lanate, greyish. Stems prostrate, 1–3 cm high, ones lying on the ground woody, with very short nodes, fresh ones covered with densely villous hairs. Leaves tufted, lower ones with shortly petiolate , upper ones sessile, lamina 3–7 × 1.5–2 mm, linear-oblong, margin strongly revolute, pectinate with 6–8 pairs of teeth, apex obtuse, densely lanate, greyish. Inflorescence 2–3 pairs-flowered spike, terminal. Flowers opposite and decussate, in a four-sided spike. Pedicels spreading, 2–3 mm at anthesis. Bracts sessile, clasping and exceeding calyx at anthesis, rhomboid, margins entire, apex acute, 5–9 × 2–3 mm, villous hairy at margin and on dorsal, greenish. Flowering calyces 1–2 mm, glandular and eglandular hairy, green, fruiting calyces 3–3.5 mm. Scutellum 1 mm long at anthesis, enlarging to 3 mm long in fruit. Corolla 20–25 mm long, with glandular hairs, tube and upper lip yellow, lower lip dark yellow, brownish or reddish-brownish. Stamens 4, didynamous, not exceeding upper lip. Anthers ca. 0.8 mm long, brownish, ciliate. Filaments glabrous, short filaments 8–10 mm long, long filaments 12–14 mm long. Style gynobasic, stigma unequally bifid. Nutlets 4, ovoid, 0.8–1 mm long, grey-black, surface completely covered with adpressed long hairs.
