Suffrutescent perennial. Flowering stems 10-60 cm, usually erect, sometimes pendent, fragile at base, simple or branched, densely leafy, usually densely and patently pilose 1-2 mm) with long eglandular and short glandular hairs, sometimes sparsely pilose towards base. Cauline leaves usually broadly ovate, few orbicular at base, 0.5-3 x 0.4-2.8 cm, margin crenate-dentate, rarely undulate, apex acute, rarely obtuse, cordate to subcordate at base, tomentose; petiole 0.1-0.3 cm. Floral leaves subsessile to sessile, similar to but smaller than cauline leaves, usually longer than verticillasters. Verticillasters usually remote throughout, rarely uppermost approximate, 1-3.5 cm apart, 4-8-flowered. Bracteoles lanceolate to linear-lanceolate, 2-12 mm, pilose, not spinescent at tip. Pedicels 0.5-3 mm. Calyx ± regular, tubular to infundibular, 7-14 mm, glandular-pilose; teeth subequal, triangular-lanceolate, 1/2 x tube, tip not spinescent. Corolla yellowish, 12-20 mm, tube exserted, annulate. Nutlets obovate, trigonous, 2.5 x 1.5 mm, slightly winged at margin, more frequently near base, apex slightly retuse. Fl. 5-7. Sloping limestone rocks and cliff crevices, 450-1200 m.
