Suffrutescent perennial with sterile basal rosettes. Flowering stems 5.5-25 cm, usually unbranched, adpressed-tomentose, rarely glabrous. Basal leaves oblong-elliptic, 0.5-5.5 x 0.3-3.5 cm, crenulate, apex obtuse, base cordate, sericeous to greyish-white-tomentose, rarely subglabrous; petiole 0.8-2.5 x 0.4-2.2 cm, shortly petiolate to subsessile, petiole 0.2-2 cm. Floral leaves subsessile to sessile, ± similar to but smaller than cauline leaves, truncate to cuneate at base, equalling or slightly longer than verticillasters. Verticillasters 6-10-flowered, remote or ±approximate into a dense spike, lower 1-2 remote, 0.5-3 cm distant. Bracteoles oblong-lanceolate to linear, 3-6 mm, herbaceous to setaceous. Pedicels 0.6-2 mm. Calyx ± regular, campanulate, 7.5-9 mm, adpressed-tomentose or glabrescent; teeth lanceolate-subulate, ± 1/2 x calyx tube, subrecurved. Corolla white or pale lemon-yellow, streaked and spotted with brown, 12.5-14 mm, tube exserted. Nutlets oblong-ovoid, 1.5-2 x 0.8-1 mm. Fl. 4-7. Vertical limestone and conglomerate cliffs and crevices, 15-1650 m.
