Dwarf shrublet, 15 cm. Flowering stems erect, short, sparsely pubescent. Leaves sessile or subsessile, 15-30 mm, linear-oblanceolate with revolute margin, entire, obtuse, strongly discolorous, tomentose beneath. Inflorescence a short, loose raceme, with solitary axillary flowers; bracts linear, longer than pedicels. Pedicels slightly shorter than calyx. Calyx campanulate, c. 6 mm, sparsely pubescent, divided to half; teeth triangular, acute and muticous. Corolla blue, barbate beneath, 2 x calyx, lobes obtuse. Stamens subequal to lip. Fl. 5. Alt. 800-980 m.
