Bulb to 1.5 cm diam. Stem 6-15 cm, smooth. Leaves 5-8, blunt, canaliculate, glaucous, linear; lowest subopposite, 1.5-3.5 x 0.3-0.5 cm, others alternate. Flowers 1-3; perianth narrowly campanulate, dark purplish-brown with green fascia; outer segments 1.3-1.9 x 0.5 cm, ovate-lanceolate, acute; inner 1.4-2.2 x 0.7 cm, obtuse. Nectaries linear, 3 mm, at base of perianth. Filaments 8-11 mm, slender, papillose. Style 8-9 mm, slender, straight, minutely papillose or smooth. Capsule not winged. Fl. 2-5. Clay hills, stony steppe, scrub, 1000 m.
