Bulb to 3 cm diam., usually with stolons or bulblets. Stem 4-20 cm, elongating to c. 35 cm in fruit, often papillose below. Leaves 4-6, alternate, lowest 3-9 x 0.3-1.9 cm, linear, usually canaliculate. Flowers 1-2;perianth narrowly campanulate, greenish or purplish-brown; segments 12-25 mm, obtuse or acute. Nectaries 2-4 x 1 mm, linear-lanceolate, c. 1mm above perianth base. Filaments 5-11 mm, stout, papillose. Style 7-8 mm, clavate, 1.5-3 mm diam. Capsule not winged.
