Bulb to 1.5 cm diam., usually with many bulblets. Stem 4-8 cm, papillose around leaf bases. Leaves 4-7, dark shining green, usually papillose on margins, all alternate, lanceolate, acute; lowest 5-9 x 0.6-1.5 cm. Flowers 1-2; perianth narrowly campanulate, yellow, fading red; segments 13-20 x3-8 mm, narrowly ovate, obtuse. Nectaries 1 x 0.5 mm, ovate, brown, at base of perianth. Filaments 6-11 mm, papillose. Style 5-8 mm, siender, papillose, 3-fid; branches 2 mm, reflexed at maturity. Capsule not winged. 2n =24. Fl. 6-7. By late snow patches on limestone, 2650-3000 m.
Endemic. Ir.-Tur. element. Related to F. minuta.
