Perennial, bulbous plant. Bulb 8–20 × 10–36 mm, globose or ovoid, with one or many bulblets ; tunica thin and papery. Stem 12–28 cm long, erect, smooth. Leaves 4–5, sessile, shining green, alternate. Lowest leaf 4.0–9.5 × 1.0–2.5 cm, lanceolate to lanceolate-elliptic, acute; median leaves 4.5–10.0 × 0.5–1.5 cm, lanceolate, acute to acuminate; uppermost leaf 1, 2.0–5.4 × 0.2–0.6 cm, lan­ceolate, linear-lanceolate, acuminate. Flowers 1; perigon narrowly campanulate, 20 mm long, bright yellow; margins at the base of the tepals with purple spots outside and inside; tepals at apex ciliate-tufted hairy; outer tepals 16.5–17.0 × 6.0–7.5 mm, oblanceolate, obtuse; inner tepals 15.5–16.0 × 6.0–6.5 mm, oblanceolate, obtuse. Nectaries 6.0–7.0 × 0.8–1.0 mm, linear, yellowish orange, placed at tepal base. Stamens included; filaments 13–15 mm long, thin, papillose, yellow; anthers 6.0–6.2 mm long, oblong, papillose, apicu­late, yellow, subbasifixed. Style 10.0–12.0 × 1.0–1.5 mm, entire to three-lobed; lobes up to 0.5 mm, smooth, yellow, slightly exceeding the perigon after fertilisation; ovary 6.0–10.0 × 2.0–2.5 mm, pale green; stigmas papillose. Capsule 23–30 × 11–15 mm, oblong, truncate at apex, cuneate at base, not winged. Seeds 4.00–5.00 × 3.00–3.75 mm, flat, triangular in outline; testa light brown, foveolate-reticulate.
