Bulb with pale brown tunic, without thickened roots, new bulb forming beside old. Basal leaves 2, linear-lanceolate, 2.5-8 x 0.2-0.4 cm, flat, usually glabrous, equalling or slightly exceeding inflorescence. Inflorescence subumbellate, 2-7 cm. Cauline leaves 2, lanceolate, ciliate, subopposite. Flowers 1-5. Pedicels usually hairy above, unequal. Perianth segments yellow, narrowly ovate-lanceolate, 10-17 mm, hairy at base. Capsule ovoid. Fl. 4-7. Open woods and damp grassy places, 700-2000 m.
