Suffruticose perennial with procumbent base. Flowering stems erect, 6-17 cm, smooth. Leaves with stipular glands, green, those of the sterile rosettes narrowly spathulate, obtuse, mucronate, 15-35 x 3-5 mm; cauline leaves oblong, obtuse, mucronate , 1-nerved, the lower usually spathulate and sometimes forming a lax rosette. Cyme densely 1-5 -flowered. Sepals 7-9 mm, ovate-oblong, blackish green, not keeled, with a narrow, membranous, glandular-ciliate margin. Petals yellow, 15-20 mm. Capsule large, 8-9 mm; beak 1 mm. Fl. 6-7. Rocky limestone or igneous slopes, 2100-2900 m.
