Perennial herb up to 2 m. Whole plant with a soft, dense, velutinous indumentum of stellate hairs. Leaves triangular or rhomboid-triangular, simple or very slightly 3-lobed, crenate-serrate. Flowers borne in fascicles in the leaf axils. Petals white to pinkish white, 9-14 mm. Mericarps rugose, stellate-pilose. Fl. 6-8. Ditches, marshes, field edges, s.l.-1500 m.
