Annual herb. Stems with simple and tuberculate-stellate hairs. Leaves palmate or palmatifid with 3-5-lobed or pinnatifid segments, sparsely hairy along the veins beneath. Flowers solitary in the leaf axils. Epicalyx of numerous linear segments. Calyx persistent and inflated in fruit, membranous with prominent veins, setose. Petals bright yellow with dark purple bases. Fl. 7-9. Cultivated land up to 1000 m.
