Perennial herb with a woody stock. Stems ascending to erect, hispid-setose to almost glabrous. Leaves oblong-lanceolate, obtuse, twice crenate, ± glabrous above, hispid-setose, especially along the veins beneath. Flowers borne singly in the leafaxils. Epicalyx segments cordate-triangular. Sepals lanceolate, setose-ciliate, 11-16 mm. Petals pink, 22-40 mm. Mericarps glabrous, rugose. FI. 5-6. Rocky slopes, fields, cliffs, s.I.-1250 m.
