Biennial or rarely annual. Stems ascending. Leaves 5-fid, the lower leaves slightly, the upper more so, all serrate, thinly pilose above and beneath. Flowers in fascicles of 4 or more in the leaf axils. Epicalyx segments ovate, almost free, neither accrescent nor spreading in fruit. Sepals greenish, stellate-pilose. Petals lilac-pink, 14-18 mm. Mericarps rounded, very faintly transversely rugose. FI. 4-5. Gravelly banks, roadsides, s.l.-150 m.
