Shrub or small tree to 5 m. Buds and young shoots hairy. Leaves ovate-cordate to ovate-lanceolate, lamina 1-3, 2 x 0,5-1,7 cm, ± dentate or serrate, rarely entire, with 7-11 pairs of distinct lateral veins, glabrous on both sides but margins hairy near petioles only; petiole puberulent-tomentose, 0,5-5 mm. Calyx yellowish, lobes triangular with ciliate margins. Corolla 2-2,5 mm. Drupe globose, 3-8 mm. Fl. 5. Mostly in dry places in macchie, Pinus brutia or deciduous Quercus forest, mixed deciduous scrub forest, 10-1350 m.
